The backpack series’ pattern design is drawn from the museum’s Qin-Han lacquerware. Hubei’s discoveries of Qin-Han lacquer artifacts are the most abundant in China, surpassing those found elsewhere. Varied in form and resplendent in color, these lacquer pieces are a singular bloom in the hundred-flower garden of Chu culture, as well as outstanding gems in the treasury of China’s ancient art.
