Chinese lacquerware craftsmanship is a dazzling pearl in the treasure trove of ancient Chinese culture. Like porcelain and silk, Chinese lacquerware stands as a precious gem of the nation’s cultural heritage.
Due to the unique geographical environment of Hubei, a large quantity of lacquer objects are unearthed there featuring diversity in type and delicacy in shape. These objects are exquisitely painted and preserved well. Taking the museum’s lacquerware collections as the design element, the Hubei Provincial Museum has developed and produced a wide range of cultural and creative derivatives of lacquerware and wooden artifacts.
