This two-day event will present the latest archaeological finds and research about the Zhou burials and the bronzes found in them. The shocking news of the oracle bone inscriptions found at Ningxia stretched our perceived territory of the Western Zhou territory; the discovery of the Ju Culture near coast in Shandong suggests alternative practices of the people living in the peripheries of the Zhou states; and the excavations of a number of large burials in central Hubei helped draw a full historical line of the Zeng State, which is never before known in received texts. The picture of the Western and Eastern Zhou States is now coloured with many fabulous finds.

Our keynote speakers, Professor Liu Xiu of Peking University will speak on the finds in north China, taking the perspective of an archaeologist; and Professor Zhu Fenghan will speak on the latest, yet not fully published, archaeological finds from the Western Zhou cemeteries at Yicheng Dahekou, Shanxi.

This is our fourth annual meeting on Chinese Archaeology and Heritage. We aim to make this an opportunity to distribute latest news and research among university staff, students, and friends outside. All are welcome.
