Created in the spring of 2013, this Zisha teapot features applied relief decoration of plum blossoms and peonies on a square-bodied form, using the applique technique to articulate its thematic concept. The peony, traditionally associated with Luoyang in Henan Province, and the plum blossom as the emblematic flower of Wuhan, are brought together in a harmonious composition. Their pairing evokes the rich cultural resonance of the Chu and Han traditions. This work was created as part of a Hubei Intangible Cultural Heritage project for cultural exchange in Russia, representing Chinese artistic heritage on an international stage.
