Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). Unearthed in 2006 from the tomb of Prince Yingjing, Zhongxiang.

The vase is decorated with a band of lotus-petal patterns on the shoulder, beneath which are peony scrolls. The belly is adorned with a powerful four-clawed dragon amidst clouds, with scrolling grass patterns below. The foot is decorated with a band of upright and inverted lotus scrolls. The cobalt is intense and vibrant, with iron-rust spots. This vase, sharing the same provenance as the blue-and-white plum vase with the “Four Addictions” motifs, was also unearthed from the tomb of Prince Yingjing. It displays typical Yuan blue-and-white porcelain characteristics in terms of its form, body, decoration, and glaze color. The vessel was produced in Jingdezhen kiln, Jiangxi.
