Xie Shichen (1487-1567)， his courtesy name is“Sizhong”and his art name “Chuxian”. He was born in Suzhou, Jiangshu and enjoyed poetry and painting. He learned from Shenzhou’s painting but developed his own style. He was good at giant paintings, which were grand but elegant. Rivers and seas were his strength and snow-covered landscape was his favorite. His masterpieces include “Journey in the snow mountain”, “Xishan after the snow”and “poetic scenery in Duling”.
