Mo Youzhi (dates unknown), a native of Dushan, Guizhou province, He earned the juren (provincial graduate) degree in 1831 and rose to the rank of County Magistrate. A prominent poet of the Song Poetry School, he was also an expert in philology, phonology, and bibliography. A master of seal script, he was praised for a manner that eschews outward display in favor of a strong epigraphic resonance. His brushwork is rounded, fluid, and characterized by archaic grace.
