Ding Yunpeng (1547-1628), also known by his zi (courtesy name) Nanyu and his hao (literary name) Shenghua Jushi, was a native of Xiuning, Anhui province. He was highly skilled in painting figures and Buddhist subjects, and was celebrated for his meticulous technique. He was also an accomplished painter of landscapes and flowers, as well as a gifted poet. His representative works include Awaiting Court(Daichao tu) and The Arhat Subduing a Tiger(Fuhu zunzhe).
